The Event

Belizean September Celebration, a 2-day Jump-up Fest and Independence Fest celebrates the best traditions Belize has to offer the world!  In its 7th year as a premier spot for Belizeans living in California to hang out and show their Belizean pride we seek to bring together Belizean people living in the diaspora to entertain, inform, and preserve Belizean culture.  We invite visitors of this page to consider sponsoring this event which is sure to highlight your commitment to preserving cultural traditions, arts, and entertainment for all community members to enjoy!

True Belizean thrives to bring a taste of the homeland right to Inglewood, CA where many Belizeans have migrated and call home. We keep Belizean traditions alive with our Jump-up Fest (coincides with 10th of September in Belize ) and Independence Fest (coincides with 21st of September in Belize) commiserating two of Belize’s most prided holidays. We feature a line-up of artist, entertainers, celebrity guests and political leaders for a True Belizean Celebration!

True Belizean is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on creating opportunities for Belizeans living in California to share their culture, entertainment and arts while advancing our people in the areas of economic development and education for our young people.  Belizean September Celebrations is our annual fundraising event that enables True Belizean to distribute scholarship funds as well as goods to Belizeans in need.  Event founder, Faron Smith, is elated to host this event yearly with help and support from Belizean leaders including but not limited to: Phillipa Lewis, Filbert Smart and Little Belize, Elaine Proby, Laverne Smith and Verona Burke. Funds raised through CCFEI will assist us in expanding a scholarship fund, bring forth a resource center for Belizeans, and immigration support for those who migrate to California.
